Healthy Habits During Pregnancy That Have Helped Me the Most

Healthy Habits During Pregnancy That Have Helped Me the Most

I recorded a podcast this week about the most helpful health and fitness things I've done during pregnancy and I realized...

My habits haven’t really changed. Like at all 😂.

I was having deja vu to a podcast episode I recorded 3 years ago talking about how I was prepping for my wedding and the habits were...the same.

And they'll probably be the same when I'm talking about postpartum, life as mom to young kids, and menopause in 20 years.

THIS is the point so many of us are missing.

We spend so much time focusing on the "plan".

👉🏻Trying to fit the perfect macro split

👉🏻Wondering if we should be doing Pilates or Strength Training

👉🏻Questioning if we need peptides or a new supplement routine

But what we're really missing is CONSISTENCY and learning how to follow through.

The basics will always work...but we need to learn how to follow through with them.

Which is why we need to start focusing on behavior change tools(like I do with my 1:1 coaching clients)...not JUST another plan.

Pregnancy has been the ultimate reminder that there will be a lot of times we don't feel like doing the thing:

-cooking 🤢

-having energy for workouts

-not eating every sweet treat

I'm SO glad that I learned how to show up and do the foundational habits even when I didn't feel like it BEFORE getting pregnant.

Pregnancy Is One Long Behavior Change Lesson

If there’s one unexpected thing pregnancy has taught me, it’s that it’s basically one long lesson in behavior change and cognitive flexibility.

Some days look exactly like you planned.

Other days require adjustments.

But when your habits are flexible and built on a strong foundation, you can continue showing up even when things aren’t perfect.

And that’s really the goal.

Not perfection.

Just consistency across different seasons of life.

Final Takeaway

The biggest lesson pregnancy has reinforced for me is this:

The habits that support a healthy pregnancy lifestyle are often the same habits that support long-term health and sustainable fat loss.

Things like:

  • strength training

  • balanced nutrition

  • sleep

  • mobility work

  • flexible consistency

When you build these habits early, they can carry you through pregnancy, busy seasons of life, and everything in between.
