Why Am I Never Motivated For My Fitness Goals?

Updated: 3 days ago

What I'd Do Differently If I Was Starting My Fitness Journey

When it comes to setting fitness goals, we’ve been taught to focus on actions and tasks:

 ✔️ Track calories

✔️ Meal prep

✔️ Hit the gym

✔️ Eat more protein

But at some point… those things get hard to do consistently. Your motivation dips, your schedule gets busy, or you simply don't feel like doing them.

This is exactly JUST setting daily actions to follow doesn’t work and why you're never motivated for your fitness goals.

This is where values-driven health goals come in.

What Are Values and Why Do They Matter in Fitness?

Your values are the qualities that describe how you want to show up in the world. Connection, growth, confidence, health, simplicity, joy, etc.

When your goals aren’t rooted in these values, they feel like chores.

For example:

  • If you value connection, restricting yourself to eating out just once a month is going to feel awful (and impossible to stick to).

  • If you value feeling strong and healthy, but your only motivation to track calories is seeing the scale drop, you’re going to burn out quickly.

Values create intrinsic motivation. Which is KEY for staying motivated long term.

In this episode of the SweatSimple Podcast I'm breaking down:

  • why motivation fades and how to stop relying on it

  • how to uncover your core values

  • how to set goals you'll ACTUALLY stick to

  • how to make your habits feel easier and more sustainable

This is a must-listen if you’re ready to stop forcing yourself into goals that don’t fit — and start building a health routine that actually feels good.
